How to follow social distancing in intimate weddings?
Anyone who wants to have an intimate wedding ceremony without risking the spread of the Covid 19 virus should follow the safety protocols advised by the government. However, if you are doing everything on your own, then you should follow some of the tips that were shared with us by some reputable wedding event decorators and planners who have experience in organising such weddings.
1). The first thing that you need to do when you are organising an intimate wedding ceremony keeps the guest list to a minimum. More people will make the venue crowded and people will find it hard to maintain social distancing in such a situation. However, if the numbers are kept at a minimum and the wedding venue is large enough to accommodate all of the guests comfortably, then it is possible to enjoy a wedding ceremony without feeling apprehensive about the Covid scare.
2). If you have invited your friends and family members to stay in a hotel room where you have decided to organise your wedding ceremony (in the banquet hall or even outside on the lawns), then put hampers in the rooms of your guests. These hampers should include small hand sanitisers and masks. This would be a great effort on your part to keep your guests stay safe (in case they have not brought a hand sanitiser or mask with them to the venue). Furthermore, you can also put extra hand sanitisers and masks all around the wedding hall in beautifully coloured baskets so that your guests can avail themselves of them when they need them).
3). Try to keep all the functions outdoors and while organising the seating arrangement, make sure that there is a few meters distance between them.
4). Make sure that the stage where the wedding ceremony is going on is not crowded. At any Indian wedding, people crowd that place where the main attraction is going on. Make sure that everyone is seated and try to keep all the rituals to a minimum (after consulting the PanditJi). As people will stay away from the small stage where the wedding ceremony is taking place, the chances of infection will also come down sharply.
5). You should forgo any plan to have a buffet-style arrangement at your wedding. Make sure that the dinner is served to the guests who are sitting down so that the contact between them and the caterers is kept at a minimum.
6). In the Sangeet ceremony ensure that your guests don’t come to the stage to dance as it would help the infection (if someone has them) to spread quickly throughout the crowded dance floor.
7). Last but not the least, you should check all the guests who arrive at your wedding venue with an oximeter and a non-contact thermometer to check whether they have a fever or whether their oxygen is at a normal level.
